| Why? | The RM&R Program is pleased to announce the launch of a new care type for Provincial Long-Stay ICU and Weaning Programs (LSP and PWC) on Tuesday June 9, 2026. The program is being launched in close collaboration with Mackenzie Health and Michael Garron Hospital. The new care type will replace existing Prolonged-Ventilation Weaning Centre care type and will also be used for Provincial Mechanical Ventilation Weaning Programs, including:
Please note that Prolonged-Ventilation Weaning Centre care type will be deactivated shortly after the launch of Provincial Long-Stay ICU and Weaning Programs (LSP and PWC). However, it will not impact any active referrals. Please use the new care type for any future referrals.  All users who have access to Prolonged-Ventilation Weaning Centre will also be able to make referrals to Provincial Long-Stay ICU and Weaning Programs (LSP and PWC).
